nxbase
One harmonized ESG & energy meta-database.
nxbase gathers sustainability, energy and impact data from heterogeneous sources โ EXIOBASE, ecoinvent, EMBER, ENTSO-E, IPCC โ and maps them onto a single, queryable grammar. One place to compare different nomenclatures without losing the source's detail.
What it offers
One grammar for all
The parent-child Rosetta Stone model reconciles different nomenclatures (NACE, CN, EXIOBASE, EBOPSโฆ) onto a common nxbase standard, keeping every row unique.
Data-aware guided query
The builder only offers parameters and filters that actually have data behind them. No empty queries: pick, run, export as CSV or JSON.
Units & GWP built in
On-demand unit conversion (density, currencies, deflators) and greenhouse-gas aggregation with AR4/AR5/AR6 GWP factors, computed downstream without touching the source.
Role-based access
Open data visible to anyone, a public tier for registered users, personal tokens for scripts and notebooks. Every source carries its own licence.
nxbase started as eNextGen’s internal tool to build, maintain and expose a relational database of ESG and energy data. Today it is the data backbone behind our analyses and projects: it powers dashboards, input-output models and compliance tools such as CBAManager.
The design is built to grow by extension, not redesign: a new family of data needs at most new parameters and new rows in existing sets โ never a rethink of the schema.
